The reviews for the 2018 Nissan Rogue are starting to come in. There are plenty of videos available to get you psyched for one of the hottest SUVs around. Next year’s model is focused on versatility, luxury and technology. After watching a few videos, who wouldn’t be ready to take this one for a test drive!
10 Features Of The 2018 Nissan Rogue We Like
For a compact SUV, the 2018 Nissan Rogue is big on storage. The first four features we love have to do with storage! There’s underfloor storage in the cargo area, which is great for things you keep in the car all the time, like an emergency blanket or a first aid kit.
Nissan even provides a divider to keep things from rolling around; you know, for when you have a basketball, a soccer ball and several loose baseballs rolling around back there. As a basketball coach, I always have basketballs in my car. When that one rogue (pun intended) ball falls out of the bag and rolls around in the back of my truck, constantly hitting all sides of my truck, I go bonkers. Drives me crazy!
If you’re like me, you travel with a few emergency water bottles and the Rogue has you covered with smart places to store extra gear in the cargo area. The 2018 model provides plenty of room in the back. With the seat down, you can fit up to six large suitcases within the 61.1 CU feet of space.
There’s additional smart storage up front with multiple places to store your phone for different purposes: there’s a place for charging; a place to hold the phone up right; or you can hide it out of sight by placing it in the center console. And the cupholders are designed to hold more than just cups, they can also hold items like billfolds and wallets. To top it off, the glove box is big enough to fit a large purse.
Climate Control System
The keyfob can remotely start the engine, but that’s not all. On cold days, the climate control system automatically turns on window and side mirror defrosters along with the steering wheel heater. As a former Wisconsinite, I love this feature! On hot days, the air conditioning is automatically turned on to cool the car down before you even get in it.
Zero Gravity Front Seats
The luxurious cabin is also super comfy with zero gravity front seats, which are designed to provide great support. The luxury touches continue with real leather on the shift boot and the steering wheel, which features a flat bottom for a sporty look and intuitive buttons to navigate the screen controls.
Customizable Screen Displays
The screen displays are customizable, so for example, you can have your music appear on the large screen and your turn-by-turn directions appear behind the steering wheel.
The SOS button triggers Nissan Connect Services for those just-in-case-emergencies like a flat tire.
For those who don’t like to park, there’s a rear camera that shows a wide angle view of what’s behind you. The sensors will alert you of any impending contact.
There’s also Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility, which helps you drive down the road and park safely. When parked, it senses what’s all around you (so you don’t hit anything). When in drive, it senses what’s in front of you, and on the side of you. And when you’re in reverse, it can detect what’s behind you. It can even detect pedestrians. In short, the 2018 Nissan Rogue will warn you of any oncoming collision.
